Annual meeting with the board yesterday!

We had a great day together- accomplished alot on the Cobossecontee Stream. Wintry but lovely!

As usual, it was almost a party, even though we had so much to do, but the board of directors is comprised of such a dedicated and active group of women. We all enjoy one another's company and respect the perspective that each of us brings to the board. We share the vision of supporting our membership and guests, and providing opportunities for them and for our beneficiary non-profits.

Can I add that we all can really cook well? And I'm not just talking about our board of directors! We're considering a designing women cookbook. I think the good food helps the great creative ideas to flow.

The Camden show, our newest, will be our most intimate with 19 exhibitors. And right on Rte 1, on the first Saturday of September. It should be a blast.

We have a new twist to add to the mix- our first show of the year, in Portland, Saturday May 2, will be our first-ever studio clean-out show! Seconds, discontinued designs, and more, all at special sale prices. A great opportunity to benefit from our spring cleaning. We must make room for the new work!

That brings us up to eight shows in Maine and one in Portsmouth, NH. We're researching the possibility of adding a couple more shows in Maine and New Hampshire in 2010 -11. As we get closer to solidifying the details, we'll let you know.

Besides the details of updating operating guidelines at our annual meeting, (So helpful to the board of directors, but I know, yawn for you. So I won't include them. ), we welcomed the addition of six new juried guests for 2009, ranging from lampworked glass beads to handweaving to fine furniture.

You'll just have to come to the shows and see everyone...
